Sun damaged skin & microdermabrasion – Does it really help?
Many studies have shown that microdermabrasion procedures are able to reduce the visual appearance of sun damaged skin to a significant extent but not completely ( depending on the degree of damage). We have come across people who after 1-2 months treatment with microdermabrasion, have less apparent sun damaged areas of skin. But on the other hand, there are people who do no improve greatly – this can be due to the fact that these people have sought treatment at a stage where the damage has penetrated far down to the deep layers of the skin.
In summary, if you notice that your skin is getting affected by the harmful rays of the sun, don’t wait. See your local dermatologist/ beautician and ask for advice with regard to microdermabrasion treatment!

I have tried microdermabrasion due to the fact that my face has been damaged by the sun and I can seriously say that these areas are less visible and my complexion is much more vibrant!
Good post!

Helhoy. To be honest I don’t think it makes any difference at all…just make sure you wear sun-screen!!! It’s a MUST!

Oh wait. Yes, I have. I’m sorry, but I just don’t have it in me right now to type it all out again. Besides, it was just ramblings anyway. You didn’t want to hear me go on and on about this, right?

[...] Many studies have shown that microdermabrasion procedures are able to reduce the visual appearance of sun damaged skin to a significant extent but not completely ( depending on the degree of damage). Microdermabrasion is a treatment where very fine crystals of aluminum oxide are sprayed onto the skin under pressure and vacuumed back at a fraction of a second. This leads to removal of the superficial skin layer, without damaging the integrity of the skin. When repeated multiple times, this allows the younger softer skin to move to the surface, and literally erasing “wrinkles” and skin imperfections.
