How many sessions of microdermabrasion can I have ?
I tried to answer this question in a post below ( “How long do the results last for?”); I will try to elaborate more here.
In theory, you can have up 8 sessions per month; that’s 2 sessions per week. Now, before you decide that you will be having 2 sessions a week, you must see what effects you get in the first two weeks of treatment (depending on your SKIN TYPE).
Many people with normo-sensitive skin deal very well with having 2 sessions per week. On the other hand, people with increased skin sensitivity are advised to have only 1 session for the first 2-3 months. The exfoliating crystals can sometimes be harsh on the skin and create nasty unwanted rashes and skin irritation.
So my advise is , see how you get on for the first two weeks with 2 ( if you dont have sensitive skin) or 1 ( if you do have sensitive skin) sessions per week!

Thanks for the advice. I think I have sensitive skin so will lower the number of sessions and then slowly taper up again! We’ll see how it goes and I will keep you posted! Bye

I’ve had 4 sessions of microdermabrasion already, and the results are great! Although sometimes it feels a bit itchy straight-after application, this soon disappears after about 1 hr… so…. so far, its pretty good!

I have rosea and I have had one treatment , I was told that 6 treatments were in there package. Also I have to wait two weeks in between treatments. My question is why wait and will microdermabrasion fix the rosea?

I have just started a session of 6 microdermabrasion treatments, once a week. I have had two so far and I’m so impressed with the results! I suffer from Millia & a little bit of congestion on my cheek bones & forehead, which is sooo annoying because they stay put! Since my two microdermabrasion treatments I’ve noticed bumps are alot smaller & my skin is so much smoother to touch.
My beautician sets the microderma machine at a lower setting, which is probably best for younger skin like myne. I will finish up my 6 sessions and have one a month after, just to maintain. Also if you are young, its best to over-do the treatment as it can disrupt younger skin’s PH balance which you would be best to avoid.

have to correct myself- Its best NOT TO over do the treatments
