Woohoo! Our first post!
Welcome to the Micro-derm-abrasion.NET Blog! Where you’ll find all the newest information about all things microdermabrasion, acne removal and general skincare techniques!

To start off, my name is Asanka Samaranayake and I have a BSc in Neuroscience, together my partner Darren Patten (BSc Surgery and Anaesthesia) we have nearly completed our Medical Degrees.
We aim to provide a database and continually updated source of information about skincare and especially microdermabrasion; because we believe that this is a technique that has revolutionised the industry on many levels.
So, as an introductory post I’m just going to give you all a quick introduction to microdermabrasion:
“Microdermabrasion is a non-surgical technique which is non-invasive, and is accessible in plastic surgery clinics, spas, and private health clinics. Basically, the process involves using a rough surface to remove (abrase) the upper-most surface of the skin (the part with the blemishes). The abrasive surface can consist of zinc, aluminium oxide crystals, and even micro-diamond (more expensive) surfaces.
As the outer most layer of skin (also known as the stratum cornea) is scraped off in dust form, it is sucked off immediately with a small vacuum device. Microdermabrasion is completely safe and does not have any unwanted side-effects, because this layer of skin is just dead – and will not detrimentally effect the healthy skin lying underneath it. It doesn’t affect the muscles, fascia, tendon sheath, or nerves, so anaesthetic is not required. “
We hope to hear some comments from you all, and look out for future blogs!
Take care and God Bless,

I am very impressed with this resource.
I can’t wait to see more of what you have to tell me; I have been a skeptic with regard to microdermabrasion but after reading your info, I can honestly say that you have turned my view around
Thanks
